A summer 2019 of work in Warsaw and in Radomsko
WARSAW : important meeting at the Ministry of Education in Warsaw, meetings with the new “Warsaw Ghetto Museum”, with Presidents of other Organisations, and with Markus Blechner, Honorary Consul of Poland to Switzerland. In RADOMSKO, with Holocaust Survivor Dr Jerzy Haze, with the Vice-Starostwo, with the Director of the Regional Museum of Radomsko and with new Team Members of the KMR, Adam Gliksman and Magda.
An important meeting with Mrs. Turowska, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education of Poland and Mrs Różańska of ‘’ORE’’ (Center for Education Development) and in presence of the KMR lawyer, Greg Galacki, took place in July 2019. There is no doubt for them and for the Ministry of Education that the KMR is an essential tool in showing what was Jewish life in Poland before the war, so as to teach directly in the buildings where Jews lived and how they contributed to the Polish society. As promised during the meeting, Mrs Turowska came to the “Kesselman Museum in Radomsko” for a whole day, followed by a Shabbat meal together. It was a great joy to receive her in Radomsko !
Still in Warsaw, with President and Vice-President of Association of the Elders of the First French Army in Poland, Mr Włodarczyk and Mr Pawelczak, to get wise advices concerning the future new plates. And meetings with the Director of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum, Albert Stankowski and its great team !
In RADOMSKO, Dr Jerzy Haze, Holocaust survivor of Radomsko, came especially from Sweden to visit the “KMR” and to show some parts of the ghetto. See his moving video in ‘’Medias’’ !
Efficient meetings concerning the soon replacement of a few tabliczki, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, with key actors of Radomsko : the new Deputy-Starosta, Jakub Jędrzejczak, the Director of the Regional Museum and President of the Starostwo Counsil, Krzysztof Zygma, and a work afternoon with Radek Bartnik, School Director, for creating future activities for the youth.
Last but not least, with the new Team Members of the KMR : Adam Gliksman, son of Holocaust survivor of Radomsko, former President of the Krakow Football Club and now Vice-President of “Solidarność” of Krakow and Region. Following this visit, he accepted to become the new KMR Coordination and Communication Director, of which we are very honored. His work on the replacement of a few broken tabliczki, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and TSKŻ (the largest Jewish cultural organization in Poland) is impressive !
An English teacher of Radomsko, the lovely Magda, joined the team for translations and coordination in Radomsko proper.
Watch the pleasant video of 3′ on ‘’Medias’’ page and see you soon in Radomsko to visit the Jewish world that existed before the war and where life was good.
